Ballet classes are available for children aged from 3 years to 18 years.
Ballet is a graceful and enjoyable form of dance. Ballet teaches self discipline, control and developes strength and good posture. As well as the traditional form, ballet offers children the chance to express themselves as dancers. The baby ballet classes nurture expressiveness and confidence by using imagination whilst learning the basic steps. Once the children move into primary and graded classes they begin to learn technique and work their way up the grades into the more advanced syllabus. Once your child has been to class they will not want to stop. Long term friendships are often made as many children stay in the same classes and grow up together. Your child will enjoy the challenge that dance can be, but most importantly they will find out just how fun dancing is.
Hair; It is important when attending ballet class that the girls have their hair in a ballet bun. The ballet bun keeps hair from flying in a dancer's face; it also creates a clean, elegant line for the dancer. Follow these steps to make the perfect bun: You will need; – Hairspray or hair gel – Hair pins (Thicker type with plastic tips.) – Bobby pins – Elastic band – Comb & brush (Fine tooth comb preferable) – Hair net (Fine net with elastic edges. Should be same color as hair.) 1. Comb the hair back into a ponytail, use gel to smooth hair down. Ponytail should be in the middle of the head at the back. If the child has short hair a low pony, or 2 side ponys can be used. 2. Tie an elastic band to secure the pony tail - make sure it is tight to ensure the bun doesn't fall out. 3. Either twist or plait the hair and wrap round the bobble into bun shape. Try and make the hair as flat to the head as possible. 4. Place the hair net over the bun. 5. Pin the bun using hair pins, to ensure it is seure place a pin at the top, bottom and each side and then inbewteen each of these pins. 6. Use kirby grips to secure any loose hairs. 7.Spray with hair spray smoothing down any loose hair.
