Modern Classes
When your child is in a primary level class (age 5+) or above they may start doing modern as an extra subject.
Modern classes are available following on from your ballet and tap class and will last for half an hour, and at a cost of £2.00 per lesson.
Modern Theatre dance is a combination of jazz and ballet; it aims to increase dancer’s strength, flexibility and performance. The syllabus is based on natural movements, walking, skipping, running, jumping and develops creativity and style. Through the grades children also learn about different rhythms and time signatures and how dance is affected by them. Modern is thoroughly enjoyable because of its up tempo music and the chance to be creative and energetic.
